Hans-Christian Schink

From 1986 to 1989 Hans-Christian Schink (German, born 1961) studied photography at the Hochschule für Graphik und Buchkunst (HGB) (Academy of Fine Arts) in Leipzig. After earning his degree he went on to post-graduate studies in Joachim Jansong’s masterclass, which Schink completed in 1993. Hans-Christian Schink has circled the whole globe with his visual studies of socially manifested topographies.
He was artist in residence at the Villa Aurora, Los Angeles in 2002, an awardee at Goethe-Institut Kyoto, Japan in 2012, and a fellow at the German Academy at Villa Massimo in Rome in 2014. His work is featured in a wide range of internationally renowned collections for instance The Getty Center, Los Angeles, USA, Collection German Parliament, DZ Bank Art Collection and has been shown in important group exhibitions, lately at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Centre Pompidou Metz, France, Museo di Roma, Italy and in solo exhibitions at Kunsthalle Erfurt in 2021 and at Von der Heydt-Museum, Wuppertal in 2022.
