Biography
Like many of his companions, Kozo Haramoto (Japanese, 1921–1994) made his living in the camera and photo-development business. He participated in the third and last of Otto Steinert’s subjektive fotografie exhibitions in 1958, and his work was featured in the corresponding German issue of Lucerne’s Camera magazine (No.3, March 1959). In this context, his work became also part of the Museum Folkwang collection in Essen, Germany. In 1962 he became a member of the Modern Art Society and in 1967 had a solo show at Tokyo’s Mitsubishi Gallery.
