This is the first retrospective catalogue on Aenne Biermann's work. Ute Eskildsen writes in her essay on the photographer that „the intimacy with objects, the attempt to achieve a closer understanding of everyday situations and objects by means of the camera“ was the point of departure of Biermann’s photographic work.
